The ‘Bass Highway Waste’ Victorian Modified Production Association series found its way to Blue Ribbon Raceway at Horsham for the second round of the season with once again some 28 cars to battle for the win which doubled as the ‘Di Watson Memorial’. Welcome additions to the series included Ballarat drivers Gary Ainley (# 76 Gary Ainley Automotive, EL Falcon) and Norm Fisher in their Falcons bolstering the Ford numbers in the field.

The finale weekend of the Victorian Modified Production Sedan ‘Bass Highway Waste’ state series on Labour Day weekend was a wonderful weekend of side by side, nose to tail racing all weekend with some fantastic form leading into the Australian Title at Albany displayed by two of Australia’s top drivers in Andrew Blackwell and Justin Drew.

January 17th seen the return of the ‘Bass Highway Waste’ Victorian Modified Production Association to Geelong’s Avalon Raceway for the second time after a number of season’s absence from the venue and the fans were treated to a wonderful display of racing from all the drivers especially the winner, Avalon’s own Justin Drew.

On the Christmas weekend of December 26th and 27th the Victorian Modified Production Sedan ‘Bass Highway Waste’ series travelled to traditional venues Mildura and Swan Hill for round two and three with Graham West in a LJ Torana winning Mildura and Andrew Blackwell VZ Commodore winning at Swan Hill and the whole filed thrilling the crowd with fantastic door to door sedan racing.

The Victorian Modified Production association have released its supported dates for the coming 08/09 season which includes the VMPA ‘Bass Highway Waste’ series dates which once again will be 7 race meetings, along with a number of race dates the VMPA have encouraged it’s drivers to support by not scheduling meetings against those dates.
